stamps
I made 5 stamps. The type of clay I used was 612. I believe I made them throughout several class periods. I used lots of different techniques and styles for my stamps. something I wish I would have done with my stamps is get more creative with different designs I did lots of line work rolling coils and putting them onto the symbol into different swirls. I wish I did some indented stamps and maybe an animal or plant.
face
For this piece, I used the clay type 612 and I did not glaze it. I used wood tools, scoring tools, my hands, and others to work on this piece. Some of the things I might do to change how I made this piece is to make bigger nose holes. I would also glaze it and possibly do more expression within its mouth like maybe some teeth or a tongue.
slab cup
For the slab project, I decided to make a cup I used low-fire white clay and I very much so enjoyed it. For this project, I used lots of wood tools to smooth all the edges together after the slab was connected. for glazes, I used underglaze fading the colors into each other and I did not really like how it came out but I definitely now know that if I am going to use underglaze I have to put more layers.
Pinch pot cut in half
This pinch pot was low-fire white obviously I just went ahead and wedged it after I was done looking back I could've definitely made the sides more even.
pinch pot with lid
This assignment was a pinch pot with a lid. for this I made a mushroom the lid is the mushroom top. I used low-fire white clay and mayco glazes one thing I wished I would have done differently about this piece is using western underglazes.
regular pinch pot
For this regular pinch pot, I made a little ring or jewelry holder. It is made out of low-fire white clay and I used underglaze and then amaco clear glaze over it. I used loop tools to create the indents and wooden tools to smooth out the inside. some things I would go back and change are not using underglaze and using the mayco glazes. I also wish I would have smoothed the piece out some more.
double pinch pot
For this double pinch pot I made two very small ones and then put them together I used western glaze with low-fire white clay. One thing that I would change is how there's some indents.
